A German extract/bittering hybrid released in 1980. No distinct aroma addition when brewing – a very clean, non-harsh, bittering hop with very high alpha acids. Used in a wide array of beers and pairs well with low bittering aroma hops like our Crystal.
A craft brewers’ specialty hop for finishing aromas, this 1983 triploid hybrid release is a cross of German Hallertauer X USDA21381M. Mt. Hood, Liberty, and Ultra are half-sisters. Crystal delivers very mild bittering, with a highly aromatic perfumed noble blend of spices and flowers.
An all-purpose hop with pungent aromatics and a clean, crisp flavour profile, used favourably as part of a blend for IPAs, and also alone in lighter lagers. This hop variety was developed in the 1960s as a triploid hybrid resulting from a cross of tetraploid Fuggle X Fuggle seedling and is Willamette’s sister.
Considered a specialist hop for those who desire something different, this Japanese dual-purpose variety is extremely aromatic with intense citrus notes. Created through a cross of Saazer x Whitebine open pollination, it replaced Sorachi Ace in Japan.
